The customer produces 10,000 items from 2,000 raw materials. Up to 80 components are used in one article. The customer has pre-produced pre-products based on experience. These have already led to significant increases in production efficiency. Due to the enormous combinatorics, the customer was unable to determine the best possible pre-products for the greatest possible reduction in production.

The solution created is able to master the combinatorics through intelligent pre-calculations and determines the preliminary products with the highest relief of production. A central component of the solution is the frequency of demand per potential preliminary product. The customer carries out the optimization regularly so that more turnover can be generated with the same production capacities.

During the set-up of the solution, substitutes were also identified so that the number of variants could be reduced.
